Jeongwoo Ryu
Hi, I am Jeongwoo. I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Intelligence and Information, Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology at Seoul National University, advised by Prof. Bongwon Suh (Human-Centered Computing Lab). I expect to receive my Ph.D. in August 2026.
My research interest lies at the intersection of HCI, NLP, and IR. I study the cognitive processes that unfold when humans and AI collaborate on intellectually demanding tasks — how AI systems subtly shape human judgment through phenomena such as sycophancy, halo effects, and authorship bias. Beyond measuring these effects, I am interested in how the potential risks they pose can be technically mitigated, so that AI systems act not as mirrors of our beliefs, but as genuine counterparts in thinking.
Before my Ph.D., I received an M.S. in Digital Contents and Information Studies from the Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology at Seoul National University, also under Prof. Bongwon Suh, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Yonsei University.
